We had an old corner fireplace demolished and a new one built in the center of a wall The new fireplace with a custom built niche for an 85 inch TV above and cabinets on each side was designed beautifully and rocked all around-a true “masterpiece “ indeed! After another fireplace company could not figure out any favorable solutions to a gas insert going into a early 1900's home, I was referred to Rocky Mountain Stove from a co-worker. The owner Mike came out and knew exactly what was going on and what we needed. He moved the insert that another company had installed (and I use that term loosely) which did not work in that location into another location in the house where its limitations could be overcome and installed a Lopi insert in the location which had to vent in a very short distance horizontally. There was no comparison in the installation between the two companies. The Rocky Mountain Stove installers were extremely meticulous with how everything was routed and finished out. They fully insulated around their flu liners which their competitor does not do. They took better care and handling of the competitors unit that they moved and installed correctly than the competitor did when they attempted to install it. You can tell Mike takes good care of his employees and treats them right because they do their work with great care and are focused on a job well done rather than a job done in the least amount of time as possible. There are a lot of big companies with massive showrooms out there. They have sales people that will come out and give you a quote who have never installed a fireplace and have very little knowledge as far as retrofit and remodel work and also have very little knowledge about specifications of the product that they sell. When you call Rocky Mountain Stove, Mike the owner will come out to look at your situation. He has a lifetime of experience and understanding. He has worked in just about every type of retrofit and remodel situation that exists. He sells the best quality equipment on the market and will get you exactly what you need. I would expect his quote to come in higher than the competitors due to quality of equipment being supplied and all of the extras that are standard practice in their installs. If you have a new construction project any of those big box companies can get you a run of the mill fireplace and do a decent job on the install. If you have a retrofit or remodel project just save yourself a lot of problems and have Rocky Mountain Stove do it.

I replaced two fireplaces in my home. The basement was a stove and was easily done. My upstairs fireplace has a beautiful mantel around it. I wanted to keep the mantel. Mike and his crew did an excellent job at saving what they could. My fireplace upstairs was in horrible shape. The weather had rotted 3 5” diameter holes in the pipe and the fireplace it’s self, which could have been catastrophic for me and my family. They did such an excellent job on both of the fireplaces they installed. I’m very happy with them. I would highly recommend them. I actually have told several of my friends about them.

We can’t say enough good things about Mike, the installation crew and everybody in the office. Everybody we talked to throughout the process was so courteous and helpful. Having an older home, we were concerned about possible logistical roadblocks of having a gas stove installed. When Mike came out to give us a bid, he took a quick look at everything and assured us it was all possible. Mike even came to our house a second time to answer a couple questions we had. On the day of installation, Mike and the installation guys showed up on time and they went to great lengths to cover everything to minimize the mess. Due to the brutal winter we had some major and unexpected damage at a cabin we own in the Huntsville/Morgan area. We lost our chimney 😳. We had worked with Mike and Rocky Mountain Stove previously as they had installed a fireplace insert and a wood burning stove in our cabins, so I gave them a panicked call to see what and who they would recommend. It turned out that they could deal/repair/replace everything. Such a relief! There was more to the job than anyone anticipated but Mike made sure to explain everything to us and he worked with our insurance as well. Long story short (is that possible now?) Mike and his workers brought the fireplace up to code, repaired some unexpected internal damage caused by a 10 foot, 3000 lb. stone chimney crashing onto the roof, built a whole new chimney/casing and finally cleaned up everything inside and out. Bottom line is we have a safer fireplace and a sturdier and better chimney/casing. All thanks to Mike and his crew. They are knowledgeable, courteous, and are on time for every appointment we have had. I couldn’t be happier with them and will refer everyone I know to them. They are officially on my Christmas Card list. 😉

Got three bids for a wood burning stove to be installed in my Old Farm House built in 1889. Two of the company's that came to bid could not answer my questions or concerns. I felt like I knew more about stoves and the installation process than the salesman did. Having grown up with a wood burning stove and owning a Lopi in my home now, I knew what I was looking for. Originally I bought the fireplace insert for aesthetic reasons but it turns out it’s a great heater I think we’ll be saving money on our gas bill because it heats the daily living portion of our house perfectly for our needs. In 2019, Rocky Mountain Stove and Fireplace converted our wood burning fireplace to gas and replaced an old existing gas fireplace. The wood fireplace had an arched opening and the gas one was made of large irregularly shaped rocks. We had received bids from several companies, but Rocky Mountain was the only company that said they could do custom panels to fit inside the openings and keep the character of the original fireplaces. Mike Pickrell, the owner, was very knowledgeable and explained what was available to achieve the look we wanted. He was personally involved in measuring for the custom panels and in the installation. His attention to detail demonstrated his desire to provide a high quality product. We love our fireplaces and highly recommend Rocky Mountain Stove and Fireplace in Ogden!

I bought a fireplace insert several years ago and they did an excellent job. But a few days ago, I found a piece of aluminum in the yard that appeared to be a chimney cap. So I took it in and showed it to Mike. He immediately recognized that it was not one of his but due to the fact that I cannot easily get on my roof, I asked him if he would come out and take a look to see if it may have come from my furnace pipe. He did so the very next day! He told me everything looked good up there and when I tried to pay him for his time, he refused! That's going the extra mile in customer service! I have purchased two stoves from Rockey Mountain stove and fireplace. I have been very pleased with both stoves, the installation, and service provided by Mike. I had an issue with one, called the shop, Mike responded immediately and fixed the problem to my satisfaction. I also had Mike clean out my chimney at my cabin where I have a wood burning stove.
